As a third party quality inspector, following the previous evaluation of a 1 star (black shape) led solar street light, this time I evaluated a 4 star (gray shape) led solar street light.
Here I will compare their material and other comparison , tell you why I finally gave such a score, which is better and welcome everyone to learn about various types of led solar street lights.
Table of Contents
1. Comparison of LED Solar Street Lights
1.1 Brighter and Better Light Distribution
This gray led solar street light is brighter than this black one,
Let me give you an example just to make it easier for you to understand.
The following is a display rendering of two led solar street lights.
▼The actual situation of light shining on the road using this black led solar street light
It can be seen that the light distribution of this led solar street light is uneven, with bright and dark lights, which is very dangerous for us to walk or drive at night.
▼The actual situation of light shining on the road using this gray led solar street light
We can see that most of the light is more uniform, without dark spots, and we are safer whether walking or driving.
1.2 Real Product Description
This black led solar street light is rated at 800 watts. 800 watts! Do you believe it? I don’t believe it! Gray led solar street lights are marked with total output lumen, solar panel and battery capacity.
These are all very important information, but it would be even better if it told us how many hours we could work based on a full output lumen. I know this can be calculated based on its capacity, voltage and current, but how? This is too hard for the end user!
1.3 Better Water Proof Ability
First: This black solar street light has poor waterproofing capabilities. It has no rubber or glue, and the manufacturing process is very irregular. For this gray solar street light, the solar panel is located between the light fixture and the housing and is fixed with glue, making it very safe.
Second:On the other side, the PC lens is located between the light fixture and the housing, and is also filled with silicone.
Third: There are many holes here that allow hot air to flow to the outside, helping outdoor air to enter the room, balancing the indoor air pressure, and also helpful for waterproofing.
1.4 Healthier CCT
The CCT(color temperature )of this gray solar street light is around 6300k, which is within the normal specifications of outdoor lights. The color temperature of this black solar street light exceeds 9000 K which include a lot of blue light. When we turn them on together and project the light onto the wall, we can see that the light of the black solar street light is blue, while the light of the gray solar street light is yellow. Yellow light looks warmer, which is kinder to people’s eyes.
1.5 Safer
The poles of gray solar street lights are twice as heavy as those of black solar street lights. What’s more important is that the black street light only uses a very small screw to fix the pole to the light.
The gray street light uses four large bolts.
Now let’s compare the two lights. If you were in a windy environment, which one would you think would be safer?
1.6 Feeling and Material
This gray street light will give the end user a high-end feel, while this black street light will feel cheaper. I think the biggest reason is that the outer shell material of the black street light is plastic, which is very light. But the surface of this gray street light is a shell made of metal.
Gray street lights are corrosion-resistant.
Here I will also talk about the disadvantages of this gray street light:
The solar panels are polycrystalline silicon.
Polysilicon is less efficient than monocrystalline, so if monocrystalline could be used, I could give it a higher score!
To sum up, I think the evaluation score of the gray solar street light is higher than that of the black street light. What do you think? More evaluation experiments are expected.
