Why do we test LED High Bay light in a strange way?

Hello everyone, my name is Hank, and I am a third-party quality inspector responsible for the quality management of OEM/ODM suppliers of LED lighting products, include LED Industry Light-High Bay Light.

From the above picture, you can see: 4 pcs high-temperature electric furnaces, temperature measure instruments, thermocouples, industry High Bay lamps, and a small black room.

So, what are we doing here? Actually, we are testing the temperature of the light to calculate its lifespan and quality.

Why do we do this?

Because this is a sample testing model of a lighting fixture designed specifically for an Italian steel mill lighting project for one of our clients.

These electric furnaces simulate the high-temperature heat sources found in steel mills and foundries. One end of the thermocouple is connected to the LED chip of the LED High Bay Light, and the other end is connected to the temperature measuring instrument.

The instrument calculates the real-time temperature of the LED chip, storing a temperature data every 5 seconds.

Below is a wind-proof room with double-layer walls, built entirely according to IEC standards. The overall black color minimizes heat radiation, and the walls have many holes for ventilation while not being affected by external airf

However, is this enough?

An engineer at Back Morning believes it’s not enough. Some steel mills and foundries produce a lot of dust, fumes, and humidity. These substances accumulate on the lamp body, affecting the heat dissipation of the LED lamp, reducing its lifespan, and causing light decay. Therefore, we also need to spray some fumes and add some powder to the front and back of the lamp body to simulate the harshest working conditions.
